Capabilities of Optimus which helped our client in allotting SAP licensing to the required users and its optimization.
Licensing evaluation was never carried out in the system since the implementation of SAP. Hence, the LAW report was submitted to SAP with a manual comparison of the existing Bill of Materials and the licensing assignment in the SAP system. Furthermore, as users were categorized based on their authorizations, this method ignored the actual usage behavior.
Our client understood that it is merely impossible to manage the licenses manually as the SAP system landscape holds a lot of complexity. Using our Optimus solution, we evaluated the existing SAP contracts and managed BoMs centrally. Then we prioritized the processes that heavily focused on users with expensive license types, such as the Developers and SAP Business Suite Professional users. We moved to accurate customization of our solution and analysis of the system according to the usage behavior. This helped us in assigning these licenses to the users who actually require them.
This resulted in a 100% compliant system with immense cost-reductions on future additional purchases and maintenance.
